Trig 8 series

All the info you need…

The walk run route starts at the Queen Street East Walkway. It will proceed along the walkway to Denton Road where the people doing the 4km option can turn round and return to the start.

For those doing the 8km option, they will cross Denton Road, looking out for traffic, turn left and continue along Denton Road to the entrance of Trig. Turn right onto the Trig Road and continue straight up. Do not turn off the main Trig Road! At the top of Trig is the turn around point for the return. Now they will retrace their steps to the start.

There are distance markers all the way up Trig giving plenty of opportunities for you to track your progress over the 8 weeks. Especially useful if this is your first time walking or running the Trig.

Tips for Newbies

If this is new for you then you can progress yourself each week by going a little further or a little faster. Go at your own pace and set yourself small goals each week.

The first week’s goal could be to complete the 4km, the second might be to reach the entrance of Trig, the third to go a little way up Trig and so on.

For the more experienced

For those that are more advanced, you can challenge yourself by jogging some or all of it, by timing yourself and aiming to be faster each week, even pacing yourself with someone faster than you. The incline section is a great opportunity to improve your cardio fitness.

TRIG 8

The Trig 8 is a chance to allow all individuals – walkers, runners and athletes, to be outside, get active and fit along side like minded individuals.

Everyone is welcome from Green Prescription people to competitive runners training for their next race.

At the end of your session there will be refreshments available for all participants.
